It has come to be named The Winter Nationals at the world's most famus street.

For those of your in DFW who have never ventured down to Houston to see this place...it hooks better than any track in the cuntry.

I have been to Rankin twice before. By far the best illegal racing I have ever seen. And they do prep the road there very well! I agree better than most tracks. That first spot is one of the best spots to do that at.

couple of years ago was amazing! Sunday afternoons, I would go out there and watch race after race of wheels up racing. I'v seen guys come down from Chicago to race ONE race for $15,000. Seen guys come in from Cal. for set up races. I'v seen amazing trailors out there, I'm talking trailors with lifts in them! Now adays it's only like one weekend a month or less the big guys will have planned for Sunday afternoons, and luckly I'm on the short list of people who get the call when it's going to happen

. They cops could show up anytime, yeah. I'v seen cops roll up just as a race of 2 8ish sec cars go off. This last outing there was a police scanner on scean so we had a little heads up if the cops were going to show. A couple of years ago when it was awsome, but a small crowed on the afternoon races, the cops seemed to look the other way (except the dreded Troopers).

I went Texas A&M from 95-00. Rankin Rd or Goodnight Rd was the spot to go street Race in Houston. It's the SHIT! It makes "fast and furious" look like the silly hollywood bs it is. At the time I was frequenting, there were several cops who ran their own street rides for $$$.(HPD cops are all about "supplementing" their income) Charlie Pouge had this black turbo GT that had no business on the street and the GN's from Connoly's were aways there to take part. You have never seen so many "powdered up" rednecks and whatnot in your life. It's great, a true cultural experience

The only street races I have seen that rival these were the Westhiemer street races. It was the spot before Rankin where everyone was going before '95. I swear there were over 1000 rides out their sometimes. The cops couldn't do shit except write some petty tickets, they were choked by the numbers. Next weekend they brought the firetrucks out and hosed water on to our track all night.

It's kinda funny in retrospect. Anyways, I grew up in Ft.Worth chasin the races from Garden Acres to Mottarolla and then to NW Hwy. I've seen some sick shit out at NW in the day. Hopfully we all see to it happens some more if we can keep the Chevy's from hitting spectators

oh i've seen royal at it's best but i don't think it ever was as good as rankin or westheimer. i thought the best dallas street racing was at astro and carter.

We do this thing called the "King of Levittown" it brings out all the heavy hitters. I will say...we dont have cars yanking wheels stands like in them pictures..but we get done just as well. We do the whole track bite thing too..But i've never seen a whole road sprayed before just like the track..thats just insane lol.

This is Bottled Racing a car from new jersy. The Malibu Blew a head gasket on this run..It would have been a damn good run if it didn't break. If ya turn up your volume you can hear these cars scream. These are the only 2 vids we have of cars racing in the KOL event...although there were many more races
